For the 5th time, Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF) & the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT) are forming the Taiwan Pavilion jointly with Taiwan Export Promotion Project (TEPP) at Technotex 2017, which will be held in Mumbai from April 12-14, 2017, at the Bombay Convention Exhibition Centre, Goregaon, Mumbai. The Taiwan pavilion will display Taiwan’s latest in technical, functional and eco-friendly textiles with quality products showcasing pioneering technologies.
Exploring bigger business opportunities with the launch of their new Smart Technology Textile, this year 8 new companies producing high-end innovative technical, functional, performance and industrial textiles and accessories will be showcasing their products along with others. Indian buyers will be introduced to the new “Smart Technology Textile” and will be able to meet leading Taiwanese manufacturers and suppliers of functional and eco textiles and source from them.
The Taiwanese textile industries have been long time leaders in the development of environment friendly concepts and in recycled polymer and polymer blends. From yarns for apparel, industrial and sport accessories, recycled yarns are growing in importance and are a core part of the Taiwan textile industry.Taiwan’s technical textiles are technically far superior due to the industry’s dedicated focus on innovation through the development of high value-added materials and products by focusing on R&D and advanced technology.
“The Indian technical textile industry has witnessed a significant growth of 16% from 2001-10, and is expected to grow at the rate of 20% to touch US$ 30 billion over the next five years from around US$ 23.6 billion currently. Taiwan is one of the very few countries who can fulfil India’s requirements as Taiwan’stextilesector is the leader in technology innovations and manufacturers in the world with a strong research & development segment. She further added, “India is a very dynamic market with a lot of potential and scope for Taiwanese companies to expand their export market. Taiwanese technical and functional textile companies are keen to penetrate their products in India with the growing demand and consumption of technical textiles. The multiple industries and sectors Taiwan is focusing on are Sports goods and Apparel, Rainwear, Outdoor Tents and Canopies, Automotive, Defence, Police, Fire Departments, Protective and Safety Products, Non-woven Disposables, Luggage & Footwear, etc.”
