Ø FABRIC SUPPLIERS’ ASSOCIATION IS CELEBRATING ITS 10TH YEAR

The Fabric Suppliers’ Association (FSA) has organized its 20thedition of “Textrade Fair”on 3rd& 4th May 2017 at Hotel Orchid Ecotel, near Santacruz airport, Mumbai. FSA has booked 3 floors with 80 stalls of exhibitors. “Textrade Fair” will present a golden opportunity to showcase fabric creativity, design innovation, splash of colours and fashion extravanza for the seasons in 2017.
20th edition of “Textrade Fair” will display collection of fabrics for ‘winter 2017’ consumption of garment industry. The Fair will display shirting & suiting fabrics for menswear, which will include cotton fabrics, linen, polyester – cotton etc. The range of fabricsdisplayed will be meant for casuals, formals and party wear. The Fair will also display the latest international trend, developments & fashion forecast for 2017. Besides fabric, a few sample garments will be also on display to represent the feel, texture and look of the final product.
“Textrade” is B2B fair, supported by The Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI). Only garment manufacturers, retailers and fashion designers will be permitted to visit the fair. The entry will be free of charge after mandatory registration. Around 10,000 footfalls are expected during the fair.
Mr. ChainroopBanthia, President of the Fabric Suppliers’ Association stated that this is the right moment to consider a strategy to increase domestic per capita consumption of cloth which was 22.87 square metres in 1991 -92 to present level of 26 square metres and it can be further enhanced if all hurdles are removed. Goods & Service Tax (GST) will be applicable from 1st July 2017. Textiles and apparels should be kept at the lowest slab of GST, which could be 5%.
FSA is celebrating its 10th year. FSA is the only association in India representing the wholesale fabric suppliers to the entire garment industry of India. FSA has been arranging Two ‘Textrade’ fabric fairs every year in Mumbai. FSA has been also organizing seminars & workshops for the benefits of its members. FSA has also constituteda arbitration panel for resolving disputes for its members.
Mr. ChainroopBanthia is the President of FSA and Mr. PawanBarasia is the Vice President. Mr. Nilesh Shah is Hon. General Secretary and Mr. Anil Tanna is the Joint General Secretary. Other Managing Committee Members include Sanjay Gala, YashSomaiya, HarshadGathani, JayeshSheth, I.G. Goyenka and KalpeshBadani.
